Full Moon Ride

On what is suppose to be the night where the moon will be closests to earth, we planned our first club night ride in several years. I had forgot how much fun is was. Riding at night down a dark country road it changes your perspective on touring. The air temps were cool, no wind to speak of silence of only hearing the whirl of your bike. Of course a few bats flew over and many insects when riding along a farmers field. We are hoping that this ride will the first of many more to come. I do need to buy me a better light thou.
FYI.. I enhanced the moon in the picture a little, but I think you get the message?
Picture left to right: Byron Nagle, Tom Pritchard(Me) & Joe Morley. Other person who rode, but not in the picture is Dan Holzinger.

Our Club Annual Ride

Our local bicycle club has an annual 50 mile ride route going out to a unique resturamt located in the country. This past Saturday we did this event for 2013. The weather looked a little discouraging to begin with, but it held up through most of the afternoon. Attached are several pictures that depict our weekend adventure.

Meeting a Pro

My son Chad and I went to the Cyclo-Cross World Championship in Louisville, Ky on February 2nd. We had a chance to have a picture taken with the Women’s European Cyclo-Cross 2012 champion Helen Wyman. Helen is from Great Britain and cycles for the KONA/FSA Factory Team. She was very gracious to take the time for a snapshot.

First Ride of 2013

As most bike clubs will do on this day is do the first ride of the year. Maybe not in warm sunshine, but maybe snow covered streets or sub-zero temps. Today our club did our thing in temps in the 30's and clear streets. Ride distance was very short, but satisfying by all. After our ride we became cozy in a local restaurant to snack on a few items and share our plans for the upcoming year.
